| Hey Everyone~ I've opted to write this post today, when it should've been written a long time ago. Back in April, my mother approached me and asked if Sarah would like to move in with us. After about a week of prayer and careful thought, I proposed the idea to Sarah. Needless to say, she said yes. Okay, so we live together, got it? Now that that is out of the way, let me jump on to everyone before everyone jumps onto us I've been thinking about how I want to write this post for awhile now. I'm not trying to offend anybody, so I didn't really WANT to write it, but at the same time, I felt that I should write it. The biggest debate about living with someone before you're married is that you are giving off the appearance that you are having sex. Appearances, shmearances. As you all may recall, I've never cared much about appearances. The way I see Sarah's and my living situation is that it's between us and God. Allow me to lay down the gauntlet here, but Satan isn't strong enough to make us break the promise of not having sex until we're married. Also, I don't think it says in the Bible word for word "Thou shall not live with someone you're not married to." Correct me if I'm wrong....I understand that it says you shouldn't put yourself into a situation where there is a chance you will give in to temptation. However, temptation is just a choice. We're both responsible adults who are committed to waiting until marriage to have sex. If I avoided everywhere there is a possibility of temptation, I would have to lock myself up in my room, with all the lights off, and in a straitjacket. Unfortunately, everywhere you go, there is temptation. You can't just ignore it...but what you can do, is make the right choices. I don't expect you to agree with our decision to live together. And honestly, everyone can save the lectures they have for us I don't mind answering questions about it (to a degree) but spare the lecture Unless you know the full circumstances of our situation, I don't expect you to "get" why we live together. So I beg of you, we are well aware that you don't agree with it, we don't need to hear about it. Just understand that we have our reasons and the way the circumstances are, it's the best choice for her, I, and my mom. Thanks. Hope you're not too offended. Feel free to leave a comment on the post or underneath on the talk-box.....And happy birthday Jon!!!! You're 21 now....STUD. | | |
| Hey Everyone~
This blog is overdue a few weeks, but I've been busy. So anyways, to get on with it, April 28th was a sad day in the music business. A band that perhaps you have never heard of hung up their guitars and microphones for good. Waikiki, Hawaii was the spot of their final concert. The band's name is Audio Adrenaline. I have many memories of this band. They are really the band that got me most interested in Christian music and hit me deep down with a need to please Jesus. If I remember correctly (and someone may have to correct me), the first time I saw them was at the Luis Palau Festival in Portland in...1998? Either way, they have been playing music for 15 years. They've won Dove awards, Grammy awards, and even had the song of the decade for the 90s with "Big House." As you may or may not know, Big House is one of my favorite songs EVER and we sing it at church camp with all the little kids. It's definitely the favorite...I would say. As for Audio Adrenaline, during summers I remember a group of us, oh here we go, of Julie Gosser, Mandi Wilson, Jeni Wilson, Mark Teschner, Eric Teschner, Cheryl Rice, Becky Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, and occasionally Chris Forum and Grace Wilson cramming into Mandi's little Nissan Pulsar (should seat one and a half people) and we would ABSOLUTELY rock out to "Never Gonna Be as Big as Jesus" from the Bloom CD. This was the greatest song I had ever heard at that time. It was perfect for rocking out on hot summer days. Ya'll have no idea how hearing one song can flood back the memories. I even remember at the Palau Festival, we were all dancing to "Get Down" and we were upsetting some people behind us but we were having a BLAST! And we'd always Get Down and He'd lift us up. It was great. They were always at Creation Festival in George, Washington also. Rocking out with thousands upon thousands of other Audio A fans was just one of those experiences that honestly brought you closer to God. As foolish as that sounds, it is SO true. It was also at Creation Fest that I got to meet the band for the first time. I'm not sure there's a band that is so cool and has as much fun as these guys. So anyways, if ya'll get a chance, jump onto www.audioa.com or download some audio adrenaline music from limewire, napster, or whatever else people use to d/l music. Even better, go buy an album. I highly recommend my three favorite discs, Underdog, Bloom, and Hit Parade. However, all their discs were good (some better than others lol), but this music inspired a generation and has touched a bunch of people's lives...mine included. If you have a memory of the band, please share it or if you have many, share them all! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of an Audio A memory or two with me and thank you to Audio A. You guys are the best. Adios! | | |
| HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. KLINKEBEIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU TONS!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | |
| So I made a decision. Ya'll need to get your own xangas. Why? Because you guys read mine and Della's to find out what's going on in our lives but we don't know what's going on in yours....so get on it. sheesh people. so big things. most of you have heard by now that I did land the dispatch position at Corvallis PD. So I'm very excited about that. Praise God. He is awesome. I just got back from Les Schwab. Took the ol' gumtree in for a $400 makeover. sigh...i hate cars. um....gonna go sign my papers at the police department when justin gets outta the pooher. speaking of the pooher (nice segue), our septic backed up so I had to have someone come out this morning and fix that. I'm just thankful i have a higher paying job cuz this money stuff is out of control right now. Let's see....went to a Beatles concert the other night...not exactly THE beatles but a tribute band. We had a great time. Hit up the Olive Garden for dinner and then the Armory in Salem for the concert. A week before that, we hit up the Rose Garden for the Rascal Flatts concert. love it. okay, i'm out. don't got nothin' to say. see ya'll tonight at 8 for our basketball game. Love, hugs, and handpounds. ><> | | |
| Not really sure what to write. Blah, blah, blah. It's my day off, it's 815 and I have nothing really to do. so i'm just gonna hang out around the house. unless you want to hang out. we'll see. um....I had a psych eval the other day. Ya know in school, how you use those little answer sheets where you fill in the bubble? I had to answer almost 1000 questions using the bubble sheets. That took four hours by itself. and my hand was cramped. Oh. Not to mention I had to be at the psych guy's office at 830 in the morning...in lake oswego. So that got over (thankfully). then i had a meeting with the guy. he asked me the standard "what do your parents do for a living" and "what do your brothers do for a living" and then a few questions on my 1000 answer thing. Then we played games. He read out a sequence of letters and numbers (such as 3k6j1c9) and i had to read them back in numerical then alphabetical order...soooo..... 1369cjk. it was tough. then he brought out a kid's toy with like fourteen blue blocks on it. and he would touch the blocks and i had to repeat the order he did. after a few minutes of that (and i'm feeling REALLY dumb at this point), he told me he would touch the blocks and I had to touch them in reverse order. That stunk BAD. after we finished there, he stood up and said we were done. Only like a seven minute interview. pretty crazy. so at this point, i'm just waiting to hear back if i have the job or if i am still stuck at signal. i'm praying for God's will in this one because if I'm stuck at Signal, I'm going back to school somehow. So we'll see. Okay, bye. | | |
